Make-Up Tips

DIY Make-up

Get red carpet glamour at your prom! Follow these simple steps and look gorgeous.

1. Cleanse & Moisturise

Making sure your face is clean is vital before applying any primers, bases or make-up. A brilliant cleanser is Pond's Cold Cream. Simply rub onto your skin and wipe off with cotton wool, then wash after.

2. Concealer & Foundation

Your ideal concealer should be one shade lighter than your skin. Apply under eyes, any blemishes or spots before your foundation. Dab the concealer on as your face and eyes are very delicate and need TLC. Dabbing concealer with your fingers is one of the best ways to create a natural, smooth effect.

3. Powder

Powder is the most imporant product! It will keep the coverage on your face and take away shine and grease. Brush lightly over t-zone and eyelids, to create a great base for eye shadow.

4. Blusher

Smile when applying blusher, your cheek bones will stand out!

5. Eyes

False eye lashes can look beautiful and open up your eyes. You want your eyes to stand out, yet not look over the top. If you are using fake eye lashes, then MAC Duo adhesive is a must have. Easy to use and safe for your eyelids, feel confident with your lashes all night.

Inserts

Perfect if you have naturally long lashes. Squeeze a small amount of Duo onto the palm of your hand. Leave for atleast 30 seconds to thicken. With tweezers, carefully pick up an eyelash insert, dip the end tip into the glue, then gently drop into the root of your own lashes. Start from the outside inwards and use as many as you like. Allow to dry then apply a few coats of mascara. See your eye lashes transform before your own eyes!

Double Lash

Create a more dramatic, glamorous look with these double lash false eye lashes. Start by using an eyeliner to line your eye lid. Then, make sure you fit the eyelash to your own eye, cutting if neccessary.
Squeeze a small amount of Duo onto the eyelash strip, leave for 30 seconds to thicken, then apply to eyelids as close to your own lash as possible.
Using an eye bud gently to guide the eye lash will help put it in position.

6. Lips

Last but not least, the lips! Use a thin layer of your usual foundation to your lips before applying final colour for a good base and more staying power.
